Harry Potter Seeker Dressed Figure, Tonner Harry Potter Seeker Doll w/Firebolt. In the fictional Harry Potter universe developed by J. K. Rowling and portrayed in the internationally bestselling series of novels and in the film series, Quidditch is an extremely popular sport played by wizards on flying broomsticks. It is played at the scholastic level by such wizards as the series’ title character, as well as regionally, and internationally between national teams, similar to the football competitions arranged by FIFA.
The game is played by two teams of seven people (three Chasers, two Beaters, a Keeper and a Seeker) and involves four balls (a Quaffle, two Bludgers and a Golden Snitch). The Keeper acts as a goaltender, the Chasers score goals with the Quaffle, the Beaters keep the Bludgers away from their team and try to knock them towards players on the other team, and the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch. The object of the game is to score more points than one’s opponent. Each goal is worth ten points, and catching the Snitch is worth one hundred and fifty points. The game ends only when the Snitch is caught, or by mutual consent of the two team captains.
